| Informational Meeting We will have an informational meeting on May 18th at 11:30 in the Youth Hall! Anyone in grades 8-11th should attend the meeting! What will be covered? Cost, group size, chaperone opportunities, fundraising planning, registration and much more! Please let Michael know if you are interested in the trip, but unable to attend the meeting! |
| Jesus-Justice-Jazz The theme is Jesus-Justice-Jazz and it draws from the rich faith history, diverse cultures, and arts of New Orleans. It will stretch our understandings of what it means to live in relationship and service with each other in the manner of Christ— for life! The Gathering program will be different than Gatherings before. Planning teams and staff are working with local congregations and organizations, young people, and the city to pay attention to what makes The City of New Orleans unique, as well the changes it is going through as the entire Gulf Coast region continues to recover after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The focus will be on service and justice as we live our shared reality as Christians: Marked with the cross of Christ forever, we are claimed, gathered, and sent for the sake of the world. |
| Details What: ELCA National Youth Gathering Where: New Orleans, LA When: July 22-26, 2009 Who: Students who have completed 9th- 11th grade by the Summer of 2009 or those who graduated in 2009. (Current 8th- 11th grade students) Cost: It is very hard to determine a price right now as many things could change by the time we are on the trip. In 2006 the trip cost was $800 for the event, hotel, and travel. This did not however include money for food everyday. The upcoming trip will most likely cost around the same amount. Please know, fund-raising can start NOW! |
